Most photographers have tried shooting landscape photos while on road trips or family vacations. But what about capturing a cityscape? Is it difficult to do? How hard is it to capture a brightly lit night skyline?

I have ongoing project (gulf panoramas, a virtual tour of real state properties) and this project gives me an opportunity to get this kind of images.

Sunsets, artificial city lights at night and other light sources can all influence the look of your photo. If your camera supports it, try taking several shots of the night’s scene under different white balance settings to obtain special results.

Most night photos taken when the sky becomes completely dark will not produce the best results. Take “night” pictures around sunset while some natural light remains. Cityscapes are beautiful in pictures if taken at dusk when the sky is deep blue rather than black.
